Review: Pai Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream

My skin hates me. Now that I’m an adult, my acne has calmed down, so obviously, my skin had to develop rosacea. Ok, if I’m honest, that’s mostly because of my fibro, but STILL. I’ve been taking antibiotics for almost 4 months. That’s a long ass time!!! It really helped me, but now it’s up to me to take care of my skin and calm it down. I did my research and saw that Pai had a day cream especially for my difficult skin!

  • Helps calm the appearance of reactive redness.

  • Free from Alcohol (denat.), Witch Hazel, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Menthol and other common Rosacea triggers. – Pai website

This is one expensive day cream. I know. I am aware. It’s ridiculous. But if it works, it works. It’s packaging feels really expensive as well, I feel like if I would throw this, it could seriously hurt someone, it’s that heavy. It’s glass, however, which means it can break easily, which scares me as I’m too afraid I will break this when I’m going somewhere!

I feel like 1 pump is way too little though, it has a funny texture, unlike anything I’ve ever tried for my skin, but 2 pumps is too much! It doesn’t absorb when you rub it in, it’s really strange, but when you apply it to your skin and try to rub it in, it kind of feels like it just moves around but doesn’t absorb? It’s really odd! It does absorb after a minute or two, and than it’s really quickly. It is hydrating, but I don’t feel this is hydrating enough for me in the winter, as I have REALLY dry skin. I use the Beauty Bakerie oil primer on top of it when I wear makeup, and it really combines well, as my skin doesn’t look dry or gross when I apply foundation on top. So it can’t be THAT bad in hydrating my face! This isn’t targeted towards that though, so I can’t discredit it on that.

When I use this product as my day cream, and wear makeup on top, my skin doesn’t react to it as much as it did before. So it really helps with that, but it doesn’t make it any LESS. I feel like the Garnier Botanic Balm helps me more than this one! Again, it doesn’t make it worse, it does help to prevent more inflammation, but it doesn’t make it better, which is a really shame because I had hoped that something that is catered towards rosacea would help!

Am I regretting this product? No, as it does something for my skin, and makes makeup less aggressive on my skin. Would I repurchase? No, as the Garnier one helps me MORE and is a fraction of the price. Do I recommend? No, you’re hard earned money would be better spend elsewhere!
