Meet the blogger!

I noticed I have a lot of new followers that aren’t my mum or my boyfriend, and as you guys don’t know me personally, I thought it was a good idea to introduce myself to you!

Hi, I’m Liselotte, I’m 23 and I’m the face behind this blog!
I started my blog many years ago, I believe I started when I was 20 years old, and still living in Australia. I really love makeup, like, really love it. It gives me a lot of joy, and I wanted to share my joy with the rest of the world!

Like I said, I used to live in Australia (about 2 years) and I lived in the UK for a few months (Oxfordshire to be precise), which explains my English, sort of.

20171122_132158I live together with my boyfriend in a small city in the south of the Netherlands. We will be together for a year on February 17th, which is milestone considering I can be quite a handful (more on that later!).
We are the very proud parents of two cats, and yes, I do see my cats as my children and they are in fact also my best friends. Our black and white cat is Mathilda, she’s 8 months at time of writing this (and YES she is bigger than our other cat!) the white and black cat is Wijn (which is the Dutch word for wine) and she’s 3!

Mathilda is a lot like her dad, she’s really active and isn’t afraid of anything. Wijn is more like me, she’s shy, and a bit anxious.

Now, as to why I’m a handful. I’m a person who has ADD and IBS, which bothers me a lot in my day to day live. My mum always says that I shouldn’t talk about things like that, but I honestly believe that my ADD and IBS are part of ME and make me who I am today!
ADD is an attention deficit disorder, but affects me in a lot more ways than just not being able to focus. It’s a disorder (which sounds so negative, doesn’t it? My brain has just a chemical imbalance!) that’s different for everyone. It makes living with me a little bit harders as I process things just “differently”, I take things way too literal sometimes, but I don’t know how it is to be without it, so I can’t say it’s annoying or anything, it’s just me!

IBS is the shortened version of Irritable Bowl Syndrome, so my stomach can’t handle certain foods and gives me mad stomach aches. I don’t like going out to eat because one day I can literally eat everything and the next I can’t even eat a biscuit without running to the toilet. Milk, rice and fried food are the foods that hate me the most, but sometimes I just deserve a big mug of chocolate milk!

_DSF4243I love vintage style clothing, and I mainly focus on the 50s and 60s, though the 40s have a special place in my heart. I read A LOT of books, I read 63 books last year, and I mainly read non-fiction, especially about the 40s and 50s and overal history books. My favourite book is the Moonstone by Wilkie Collins, and my favourite genre is detectives, I read almost all the Poirot books, and after that I want to finish the Miss Silver series! I watch a lot of TV, as the background noise makes me focus a lot better on writing blogposts for some reason! I mostly watch detectives (thanks mum for ruining me at a young age where I only read and watch about people getting killed, cheers), of which Father Brown and Endeavor are some of my favourites (are we surprised that I like the detectives that are set in the 50s and 60s?)!

I’m the oldest of 3 siblings and the oldest of 11 cousins and I’m a very proud oldest cousin. My family is really close which I like, but my extended family is HUGE, my mum has about 90 cousins alone! My sister is a photographer, and makes some amazing pictures you can find here! My brother is studying to create movies and the like, so being a makeup artist myself was just a genius idea to work with my siblings.

I guess these are the most interesting things about me! Or at least, what I deem interesting, because honestly, I’m really boring haha!

    1. I know right!! And yeah sometimes it feels like they are the only people but I do know other people read it too, they are just the only ones in my inner circle talking about it😂
