Ok, if you are in need of a very negative review, this won’t be it. I’m going to be extremely excited about this product, so be warned! But why am I so obsessed with it?

WHAT IT IS

A revolutionary lip product that combines the texture and shine of a gloss with the long wear of a stain.

WHAT IT DOES

Coat your lips with this lip color that offers a lightweight texture, which immediately melts onto lips. Glossy Stain delivers intense glossy color for an extremely long-lasting shine

BENEFITS
Lightweight, this glossy lip stain melts onto lips for long-lasting glossy color. – Yves Saint Laurent website

Ok, I’m all about brands delivering on their promises, so let’s take a closer look.
This product is exactly like a gloss, it’s really shiny, but not too shiny, and it is really long wearing (I will get into that later!)
It’s really lightweight, the gloss lasts really long too and YES, this product delivers on its promises!!

Ok, I will elaborate on everything. This product is just like a gloss, it applies like a gloss and has the same doefoot applicator as almost every single other gloss. It has a nice floral scent, but if you are sensitive to scents be careful, because it is quite strong. It doesn’t linger, but still!

It doesn’t wear as gloss though. It is extremely longwearing. It stays glossy for hours, which most glosses don’t do. Most glosses aren’t glossy anymore after about an hour or two, on me personally, and this one easily hits the 4 hour mark. When the gloss disappears, all that there is left is a really nice stain, and the stain stays on for even longer. And yes, even after having a meal. I had a huge subway sandwich the other day while wearing this, and my lips looked perfect still! The gloss was gone, yes, but the stain was beautiful, it is opaque and doesn’t skip anywhere on my lips, and my lips don’t take pigment easily.

20180108_122412.jpgThis is the lipstain when freshly applied. As you can tell, it looks a lot more vibrant in the tube than it actually wears, but I really like it, because it looks a bit more natural (as far as a glossy, bright pink lip can look natural!). I wear this to work and when I get back from work my lips still look BOMB.

20180110_212042.jpgThis is after an 8 hour work day. I know, it doesn’t look vibrant anymore, but my lips do look really nice!! When I have an 8 hour work day, I’m actually gone for 10 hours, so I wore this for 10 hours, had lunch with it, and got home. I mean, I have a lot of lipsticks that don’t even look this nice once I get back, let alone a gloss. Another plus point to this: there is NO transfer! So go on, go smooch your SO, because you can do this freely without ruining your makeup!

I really, really, REALLY, love this product. I will buy more of these, BUT I don’t think they are worth their full price. If you want to get one of these, try looking for them on sale, because they are expensive.

I really have nothing bad to say about these, I’m just that incredibly impressed by it!
Have you tried these?
