SO, the time has come, to tell y’all about my 2017 makeup favourites! If you are wondering why there isn’t a favourite for a certain product, that is because nothing I tried last year was a favourite. I don’t think this needs an explanation so let’s get started!
Beauty Bakerie Wake & Bake Oil
This is an AMAZING face primer if you have dry skin. It absorbs quickly and makes my dry skin look healthy. You only need about 3 drops for your entire face, so one bottle will last you a life time. This product is advertised for all skintypes, it’s black owned, cruelty free and an indie brand!
Maybelline Fit Me Luminous + Smooth
I know I wrote a whole post about investing in your foundation, but kids, this is one heck of a foundation. This has a better shade range than my 2016 favourite, applies like a dream, and my dry skin loves it. It isn’t perfect, as my skin does need a very hydrating primer underneath it, but for the price it’s great! Especially as this is the ONLY drugstore foundation I have found in my shade. I’m all ready on my second bottle, so yeah, it’s been a good, solid favourite for the year!
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
Yeah, finding a shade for concealer is hard when you are about as white as a sheet of paper. Luckily, NARS has one white enough for me! I love this concealer so much. It really is creamy, but doesn’t really settle into my fine lines like other concealers do. The only downside to this product is it’s price! But I will buy this again, as it’s so nice.
Beauty Bakerie Flour Setting Powder
Apparently, Beauty Bakerie is a solid favourite, as their setting powder is also on the list! This a SERIOUS setting powder, it’ll lock your makeup into place for hours. Mind you, it does dry out your skin a little bit, so if you have dry skin, it might dry it out even more, for that reason I don’t use this powder in the winter, but in the summer it’s all I used! What’s even better about this powder, that it not only has a translucent shade, but a yellow one, a pink one and a brown one, so one for every skintone!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Poition
An eyeshadow primer is just like every other one, that’s what I used to think. But then I got a sample of the Urban Decay one and I was HOOKED. I immediately bought a full size one and I haven’t tried another one for the entire year! When I need to work, I’m gone for 10 hours, and I want my eyeshadow to look good that entire time, and this primer does that for me!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance
You can tell by the mess that I really LOVE this palette. The shades are buttery smooth, apply like a dream, blend out like a dream, and the colour choices are great too! If there was just one palette I had to use for the rest of my life, this would be it. The only downside to this palette, is that it’s so buttery that you hit pan quite quickly, as you can tell by my Vermeer! That shade is actually my favourite eyeshadow of the entire year. I even bought a single eyeshadow of this shade, because I just can’t live without it!
ColourPop Super Shock Blush in Birthday Suit
I love, love, LOVE, the ColourPop Super Shock blushes! They apply really nicely, last pretty good, have an amazing price point, and great if your skin is more dry, because it doesn’t dry out your skin like a powder blush would do. As you can tell I basically destroyed this one, I use it every day, and it looks like it’ll last me about another 5 years on top of that. If there was ever a blush I recommend, it’s this one!
Catrice Velvet Matt Lip Pencil
These lip liners are so nice! They are more a gel like pencil, not drying at all, have some beautiful shades and really opaque. It lasts for a pretty long time and makes my lipstick last a lot longer. This is a great lip liner, especially because it’s only like 3 euros, can’t beat that price and quality!
Jouer Cosmetics Lip Crème
This is definitely my FAVOURITE favourite of the year. I got one lip crème and was so impressed that I bought another one, and four lipglosses by Jouer on top of that! These liquid lipsticks are the most longwearing beautiful shades I’ve ever used. If I have a long work day, where I’m gone for 10 hours, it’ll be still on my lips by the end of the day, even though I eat and drink throughout the day as well! I can’t praise these enough, and I really wish they had more shades!!
These were my favourites for 2017! If you are curious about my 2016 favourites, you can find them here. Other than that, I hope you enjoyed this blogpost! What were your favourites for the year 2017??
